Aurora BioFuels hired Aegis to procure lab and office
space in the Bay Area. The challenge
was to find improved lab and
office space for a biotech start up on
a short term basis. The space also
had to allow for future growth.
Aegis helped Aurora secure space in
parallel with Aurora’s initial round of
funding. Aegis negotiated favorable
terms for Aurora that minimized
their rent exposure and enabled
them to preserve cash.
Aurora BioFuels was started in Berkeley, CA by three entrepreneurs interested in alternative energy, particularly biofuels. Of all the potential sources of renewable energy, Aurora’s founding team believes that algae holds the most promise to replace petroleum-based fuels.
