Aegis worked within a small time frame to look across the Berkeley corridor to find space that fit Lyris’s needs. Aegis evaded the typical stumbling blocks of large corporations like AT&T and successfully negotiated a rental rate that was 30% bellow their existing lease agreement.
Lyris Technologies, a subsidiary of J.L. Halsey (JLHY.ob), is a pioneer in the email technology industry. Since 1994, the company has been at the forefront of developing world class email marketing software and services, as well as high performance email filtering and anti-spam solutions. Lyris hired Aegis Realty Partners to assist in the expansion and relocation of their headquarters. Lyris was in the process of going through a merger and needed to have the flexibility to grow at a rapid rate. Their old facility in Berkeley, CA was of lower quality and could not provide the growth that was needed at the time. Aegis found a furnished and wired sublease in Emeryville that provided the growth at a higher image building at a similar monthly cost.
