Zogenix is a recently funded Series A company whose management was spinning out of Aradigm Corporation. Confidentiality was crucial and Aegis scoured the market to acquire a short term deal with expansion rights built into the deal. Aegis negotiated quickly for a space that contained most of the needed infrastructure and the set up of a small lab. Zogenix was moving from an industrial area and Aegis helped them move to a commute central location in Emeryville that was close to many amenities.
Zogenix, Inc. is a private, specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of medicines to treat CNS disorders and pain. Zogenix’ initial focus is the global development and commercialization of sumatriptan Intraject® — a needle free, single use, disposable, subcutaneous delivery system that will compete in the $2.5 billion triptan segment of the migraine market.
Zogenix will build a focused specialty sales and marketing organization in the United States to commercialize its products, and establish collaborative promotional partnerships as necessary to maximize each product’s potential in the U.S. The company will also seek to establish partnerships to commercialize its products in other geographies.
