Shorenstein Co. has called off plans to wine and dine office brokers on the stunning — but unleased — top floor of 555 City Center in downtown Oakland, saying its Class A business is brisk without the event. Leasing veep John Dolby reports that Berkeley property management firm EMG Properties leased a 4,000-square-foot spec suite at 555 City Center for two years, while the law offices of Meyers Nave expanded from 29,000 to 32,000 square feet in the same tower with their own four-year lease on a spec suite.
Peggy Roth of CB Richard Ellis represented EMG while Whiff Collins of MCC Realty Group repped Meyers Nave. Meanwhile, civil litigation firm Knox Ricksen moved into the City Center complex’s
1300 Clay St. from 2101 Webster St. near Lake Merritt. The 11,000–square-foot deal with Shorenstein runs through December 2012. Scott Stone and Ali Seals of Aegis Realty Partners represented Knox Ricksen.
Dolby said October has been quiet but he has reason to relax: 555 City Center is now 91 percent occupied.
