Berkeley Office Space Summary

Berkeley attracts a well-educated, skilled workforce due to its world-renowned University of California. When choosing a location, companies look to Berkeley's diverse population, lively community, and vast amenities including well-situated mass transit stations (served by BART), bicycle lanes, and access to two major freeways (Interstate 80 and Highway 24.)

West and South Berkeley have a slightly more industrial feel than the retail oriented “downtown,” but the Fourth Street area, with its high-end shops, restaurants, and coffee houses attract s service-oriented business like law offices and architectural firms. A number of Biotech companies also currently lease office space in West and South Berkeley. While North Berkeley is predominantly comprised of residential space, as one nears Interstate 80, offices and commercial real estate begin to dominate available building spaces. North Berkeley's proximity to Solano Avenue and the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge are also pluses.
